During the past few days, I've mixed the musical theatre songs I recorded and today sent the masters to the client.

The Mix:

Some light compression, de-essing, and EQ boosting air:

Strong compression to control the wide dynamic range in the performance:

EQ boosting low end by 2dB:

I contemplated this for a long time, and after listening to some musical theatre vocal reels by other people on YouTube, I decided to add a warm reverb to fill out the vocal:

I felt that even after compression, the vocal wasn't clear in all places and needed some manual adjustment. While listening through the tracks many times, I boosted and dipped the volume using automation:

I did a tiny bit of manual pitch correction to a few notes because they were drifting out of key:

In the 3rd song, Music of the Night, the music track has an extremely wide dynamic range and was overpowering the vocal when it got loud because the vocal doesn't after the compression. I compressed the music track to counteract this:
