The day before yesterday, I was asked by a friend whether I could record him playing the saxophone:

I accepted.
Today, we met at my house and commenced. I used my Shure SM7B as a close up mic and got him to bring his RØDE NT1-A for a room mic positioned further back to capture the ambience of the room.
I experimented with the position of the RØDE NT1-A, trying out 4 different positions in the room, and concluded that the best place was lower down to the ground where the mic is shown below:

- Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro Headphones (inc. Jack Extension Cable)
- TritonAudio FetHead (to provide more clean gain for Shure SM7B)
